To acknowledge and appreciate his immense contributions to the development of the association, the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Polytechnics (SSANIP), Kano State Polytechnic chapter, has organized a sendoff ceremony for one of its founding fathers, Comrade Sani Ibrahim popularly known as Coach who retired from service.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of the association, Comrade Abdulmajid Sani Baita said the association had witnessed all round improvements because of the efforts made by Com. Sani Ibrahim. The history of SSANIP would never forget Comrade Sani’s excellent performance. “On behalf of the executives, congress and the entire Polytechnic community, we say thank you for all what you have done for the association”, Comrade Abdulmajid said.
The Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Kabir Bello Dungurawa who was ably represented by his Deputy, Dr. Muhammad Umar Kibiya, a one-time National Chairman of Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), shared a lot of experiences with the audience were he called on them to dedicate themselves to the system (public service) so as to achieve the desired goals and objectives. “I am highly impressed by the idea of organizing such event in honour of retirees, I would sell it to the management of KSP”, Dr. Kibiya said. He further acknowledged the contributions made by Comrade Sani Ibrahim and other retirees not only to the association but to the development of Kano State Polytechnic. On behalf of the management, staff and students of the Polytechnic, Dr. Kibiya thanked the retirees for their selfless service to the Polytechnic.
In his farewell address, Comrade Sani Ibrahim who overwhelmed by joy thanked members of SSANIP for their support and cooperation which enable him to achieve success. “I don’t have enough words to thank you, I am really grateful, may Allah rewards you abundantly”, said Com. Sani. He also acknowledged the contributions of former Registrars, senior colleagues as well as other SSANIP members whom without their perseverance, history of the association would be different.
At the verge of the occasion, awards of honour were presented to: Alh. Yusuf Sule Gaya, former Rector of the Polytechnic; Mal. Mansur Bashir, former Registrar of Polytechnic; Mal. Sunusi Maitalata, former Ag. Registrar of the Polytechnic; Abubakar Umar Farouk, a Pioneer of the Association; Mal. Ma’arufa A. Jogana, the Deputy Registrar Establishment also a Pioneer of the Association; Mal. Sa’idu Ali Zakirai, a Pioneer of the Association; Kamal Abdu, Bursar of the Polytechnic; Hajiya Amina Halilu, former Deputy Registrar Academic; Alh. Auwalu Idi Kura, former Internal Auditor of the Polytechnic and Comrade Sani Ibrahim, for the Chief Coach of the Polytechnic, former SSANIP National Vice Chairman North West and also a Pioneer of the Association.
