The students of Kano State Polytechnic (KSP) were said to have exceled in so many aspects of human development, be it academically, socially, morally and in skills acquisition.

This was disclosed by the Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Kano State, Alh. Kabiru Ado Lakwaya when he led the APC Youth Mobilization Committee members for a sensitization tour to KSP with a view to enlighten the teaming youth on the commitment of the State government towards their welfare.

The sensitization was aimed at the students’ consultations, mobilizations, awareness and assuring the fulfilment of scholarship promises by His Excellency, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, OFR.

According to the Hon. Lakwaya, Kano State government under the able leadership of His Excellency, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, OFR has serious concern on the students and their welfare, therefore the Governor asked his Ministry to bring government’s activities closer to students in order to know their problems and demands.

The Commissioner, while appreciating the efforts of the State government, stated that after recent payment of backlog scholarship of Kano State students, all preparations have seen completed to pay them again, with increment on the amount that had been paid.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Kabir Bello Dungurawa ably represented by his Deputy, Dr. Muhammad Umar Kibiya, expressed the management’s appreciation to the state government over its commitments towards education and the students’ welfare, adding that with the coming of the Dungurawa’s administration so many problems of KSP have been resolved. Such as power supply problem, students’ seats, problem of releasing students’ results to mention but a few. Dr. Kibiya thanked the Hon. Commissioner and his entourage for finding it worthy to conduct such sensitization at Kano State Polytechnic.

The Hon. Commissioner was accompanied by Hon. Laminu Sani, former ALGON Chairman; SA on Youths Matters, Hon. Fahad A. Dabo; SSA Protocol, Hon. Adamu Mukhtar U/Gini; SSA Students Unions, Comr. Aliyu Muhammad Mai Kasuwa; SSA Youths Empowerment, Hon. Farouk Lawan Sule; SSA Youths (II) Hon. Ibrahim Danyaro; the Executive NAKSS National President, Comr. Yahaya Usman Kabo, among others.

Among the KSP management that graced the august occasion were: the Registrar, Malam Mukhtar Ibrahim Bello; Director School of Technology, Dr. Isyaku Ibrahim; Deputy Registrar Students Affairs, Comrade Jamilu Haladu, among others.
